About Alton Durell Nevins
Obituary, Alton Durrell Nevins, 84, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Pioneer Hospital in Aberdeen. He was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Monroe County to the late John H. and Mollie Holman Nevins and was a life long resident of Hamilton. He was a retired Rural Letter Carrier. He was a graduate of Hamilton High School and a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eddie Eulalie Pennington Nevins in 1998.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Elbert Wheat, Bro. Andy Guyton and Bro.William Tittle officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Fay Oliver of Brandon and Waughnie Sue Little and husband, Bob, of Hamilton; two sons, James Alton Nevins and wife, Dynell and Jerry Wayne Nevins and wife, Vicki, all of Hamilton; one brother, Faye Nevins of Hamilton; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Lee Oliver, Michael Oliver, Randall Nevins, Darrell Nevins, Lance Nevins, Reid Nevins, Jeff Morris and Austin Nevins.
