Was he named after his mother's brother (Alvin Alden Littlefield)? Was in the Army Air Corp. As a young man lived in Laguna Beach, Calif. Had previously worked for a millionaire Texan who moved to California. Hmmm...Howard Hughes? Dad had a commercial flying license & had told me he, in his younger yrs., had taught a few movie stars to fly. Hmmm...Howard Hughes girlfriends? Dad said 'June Allyson was a ......(not a nice person). Dry sense of humor. Thining hair on top. Story has it he met my mother "at a bus stop". Many of his descendants inherited his 'one eye bigger than the other' look.

Heart problems thru out his life which led to triple, then quadruple sugeries. High blood pressure, 'old age' diabetes & macular degeneration. Stroke approx.'ly 6 mos. prior to his death. Went to a nursing home for therapy & then to a retirement home (his wife had passed during all of this) where he had a massive heart attack. |
