About Ambrocio Fausto
Ambrocio Fausto is the mayor of Talavera, Nueva Ecija from 1931 to 1934 and from 1938 to 1943.
In December of 1941, the Japanese forces occupied the municipality of Talavera. During the Japanese occupation, Fausto transfered the seat of government to baranggay Kinalanguyan, a distant and small barrio of the municipality. He was captured and detained by the Japanese forces ,and later was released on the condition that he will cooperate with them. He was shot by Sixto Candelaria at about 5 o'clock in the afternoon on November 21, 1943 causing his immediate death. The suspect admitted he committed the crime and stated that he shot Fausto because of the latter's pro-Japanese activities, such as accompanying Japanese soldiers in raids, being instrumental in the bombing of the barrios of Paludpod and Gulod where guerrillas where in hiding, and being seen in company with the Japanese named Siwa.
