The second son of Andrew Moore was Ambrose Hines Moore, born in Binghamton, N.Y., in 1829. Although history books show all seven of the brothers served in the war, his actual military record has not been found.

Ambrose Hine Moore married Sarah Ann Pattee in Indiana in 1861. He and Sarah operated the Arago Hotel in Empire City, (now Coos Bay), Oregon, for many years. Ambrose was listed as a school teacher and suffered from paralysis, according to the 1880 Coos County, Oregon census. He was also a Justice of the Peace at the time.
