Amelia Shearer

 Upon the death of Hiram Shearer, Amelia returned to Hartland, Niagara. According to the 1910 Shelby Township, Niagara Co., NY Census, Amelia is listed as “widow-67” living with the Seymour Compton family. The 1920 Census for Hartland, Niagara, NY shows Amelia living with Effie Wilcox and her mother, Mary. The Wilcox families are related to the Shearer family via the marriage of their nephew James Shearer who married Nancy Dibble. Amelia is now 76. Two months after the 1920 Census was taken, Amelia Bailey Shearer passes away and is buried in the Stewart Cemetery in Hartland, NY (according to her death certificate).
