Hiram C. Shearer

Hiram C. Shearer served in the Civil War as a Union soldier under the command of Captain Levi Brown. His draft record indicates he was a married farmer age 26 from Hartland, NY. The document is dated June 1863 which means Hiram was born in 1837.

Hiram's death was published in the Medina County Gazette on 7 Dec. 1906 (page 6 col 1).

"Hiram Shearer, aged 71 was found dead in bed at his home in South Wadsworth last Thursday morning. The remains were taken to Buffalo, N.Y. for burial".

 Although no birth, death or marriage record has been located for Hiram Shearer, Census records for his parents show they lived in Clarendon, NY during 1840, which may indicate that Hiram and his brother Harvey E may have been born there.
