About Ami Bera, U.S. Congress
Amerish Babulal "Ami" Bera (born March 2, 1965) is an Indian-American physician who has been the U.S. Representative for California's 7th congressional district since 2013. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Bera won re-election in 2014 despite a very competitive race. Bera is currently the only Indian American serving in the United States Congress and the only Unitarian Universalist in Congress.
