Veteran Revolutionary War. Amos was a Private under Captain Peck – Revolutionary War, enlisted Jun 28, 1776, and fought at the Battle of White Plains where a cousin of his, Jotham Atwater, was killed, Oct 28, 1776. At least 10 Atwater cousins fought in the Revolutionary War, some loading and shooting cannons at the British.

Most likely buried with wife, however records do not indicate so.

Amos and Martha had another child in 1784, Nathan Lewis Atwater died 1843 in Southington, Hartford, Conneticut, however his burial locatin is unknown.
