Amos was a Lakota Sioux man (Oglala Tribe)

Biography:
Born to Oglala Sioux parents named Horace Nakpo Brown Ears Gi and his wife Emma (NN), probably on the Pine Ridge Reservation in July 1891.

Amos was admitted to the Canton Asylum for Insane Indians on January 15, 1913, when he was age 22, and diagnosed with hemiplegia with epilepsy (Hemiconvulsion-hemiplegia-epilepsy syndrome is a rare clinical syndrome that involves: sudden, prolonged, and unilateral convulsive seizures, epilepsy during infancy or early childhood.

Amos died at the Canton Asylum on May 1, 1921. He was buried in the Hiawatha cemetery at the Canton Asylum in plot 2 tier 49 according to the February 17, 1934 letter from Dr. L.L. Culp following the asylum closing in December 1933.
