Obituary: The Fostoria Review

         Fostoria, Ohio Dec. 20, 1971

Amos Carl Nye, 64, a former Fostorian resident for 16 years, died Sunday at Tiffin Mercy Hospital. He lived at 167 E. Market St., Tiffin.

 Mr. Nye was born Feb. 1, 1907 in Leipsic to Elsworth and Kate(Gardner) Nye, both of whom are deceased.

 He married Sadie Newhart at Greenup, KY in 1950 and she survives.

 Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Cletus Daughenbaugh, Tiffin, Mrs. Betty Nye, Tiffin, Mrs. Ray Miller, Fostoria, Mrs. Bernard Ray of Fostoria, Patricia Nye, Tiffin; sons Amos and Thomas Nye of Tiffin and Ray of Fostoria.  Five brothers are deceased.  Survivng sisters are Josephine Miller, Lima, Jenny Thomas, Findlay; Marian and Gladys Nye of Fostoria, and Ocela Aley of Fostoria.

 Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the Turner Engle Funeral Home in Tiffin with the Rev. Paul Eichar officiating.  Interment will in be in Fountain Cemetery.

 Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
