About Amster Kelley
Mr. Amster Kelley, 92, of New Castle, died Wednesday, August 14, 1985, at the King’s Daughters Hospital, Shelbyville. He was a native of Gestville, a retired farmer, a retired guard at the Kentucky State Reformatory, LaGrange, where he worked for ten years and a member of the Lockport Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Martha Loraine Long Kelley, New Castle; three daughters: Mrs. Nellie Kelley Thomas, Pleasureville, Mrs. Mary Ruth Stivers and Mrs. Josephine Kelley Floyd, both of Shelbyville; one stepdaughter: Mrs. Leroy (Wanda Carolyn) Banta, Pleasureville; one son: Truman Kelley, New Castle; one sister: Mrs. Mary S. Lawrence, Eminence; one brother: Claude Kelley, Pleasureville; one step-granddaughter; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday August 16th from Prewitt’s, New Castle. Dr. Clayton Klingenfus, pastor of the New Castle Christian Church, officiated. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.
