" The youngest son, married 1870, took over the ownership fo the farm. After Amund died in 1902, Anna and children carried on until Anna died in 1910. At that time their oldest son, Christian Wesley purchased the farm from the estate.

The original log house built in 1870 was west of the present house and broke down from a snow storm in 1924. From Kathy Bestul Wesley- "My dad said the reason Amund joined the service was to avenge the death of his brother. He was underage but lied about his age. He was only in the service about 6 months when the war was over and he was discharged. We have his discharge papers and some ribbons /medals from the war."

  • ******** Burnett Wesley: Said that Amund was "quite a go-getter". He built the barn in 1893 and it took all the money he had but fortunately the potato crop was good that year and that kept him from going broke. He added the kitchen end of the house in 1898. Dad said if he had lived longer there would have been more improvements.
