Anders was the last of 7 children born to Anders Andersson and Brynhild Bardosdatter Mogarn at the Eidem farm, just outside the village of Selbu. Anders' father died before he was born and his mother never remarried.

Anders' trunk said 'Rochester, MN' when he emigrated in 1874, following his two sisters, Kari and Brynhild; and ahead of his brother Bardo Eidem in arriving in Minnesota. Bardo was my g.g.grandfather.

Anders spent some time in Minnesota, farming with his sisters' husbands and others. Anders is shown as baptismal sponsor for his sister, Kari's daughter at South Zumbro Lutheran Church close to Rochester and Kasson, MN in 1878. About 1890 he moved to Marietta with hopes of getting his own farm. He did, purchasing a good farm from the Winona & St. Peter Railroad in 1899 for a bargain.

May 6, 1901 Anders married the widow, Brynhild Klegseth Kulsetmoen, who had arrived a widow with three tiny daughters, from Ander's home village Selbu. Anthony (Tony), Nicolai (Nick) and Benda were born to the couple, none of which had children of their own. Anders' children and grandchildren speak very highly of Anders as a kind and patient and loving man. His farm was on the MN/SD border, on the MN side, not far from Estelline, SD.

Anders was a founder of Zoar Lutheran Church at Marietta, close to his farm. He, his wife and Tony and Benda are all buried at Zoar Lutheran Cemetery, right outside the beautiful little Norwegian Lutheran Church where many Selbu-ites settled along with Anders.
