Andoni Ziloti

Anton Ziloti/Zoloti/Zălotin was a căminar (a boyar with the role of collecting alcohol taxes), from a family of either Greek or Italian ethnicity originating from Albania. At the beginning of the 19th century, the village of Cinișeuți was owned by Andoni Ziloti and had 151 peasant households. By 1814, the population of the village was 943 inhabitants. In 1825, the stone church founded by his son, Matei Ziloti, was consecrated in Cinişeuţi. On April 8, 1823, the consecration of a new church of the village took place, dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God, it was built of stone by the clucer Nicolae Ziloti.

Andoni Zoloti (Zălotin) settled in Moldova and in the first decade of the 19th century was already a căminar. He had two daughters with Ecaterina (daughter of the clucer Gavriil Luca): Soltana (who would become a nun) and another daughter that was married to Alexandru Hrisoverghi. He also had a stepson, Matei, who was from Ecaterina's first marriage, with the late Mihail Balș. It is from this son Matei, that all the future members of the Ziloti family originate.

According to the historian Nicolae Iorga, in the Revue historique du Sud-est Europen (1940, no. 7-9, p.209), the Ziloti were Romanians, of Greek-Albanian origin.

The Bessarabian Gheorghe Bezviconi, however, was of the opinion that the origin of the family would be of Italian descent from Albania.[2] The Ziloti would be a family of Italians from Albania, romanianized in the 18th century.[3]

Anton Ziloti/Zoloti/Zălotin a fost căminar, de origine greco- sau italiano-albaneză. La începutul secolului al XIX-lea satul Cinișeuți era în proprietatea căminarului Andoni Ziloti şi avea 151 de gospodării ţărăneşti. Către 1814 populaţia satului constituia 943 de locuitori. În 1825 la Cinişeuţi a fost sfinţită biserica de piatră, ctitorită de Matei Ziloti. La 8 aprilie 1823 are loc sfințirea unei noi biserici a satului, purtînd hramul Adormirea Maicii Domnului, aceasta a fost ctitorită din piatră de clucerul Nicolae Ziloti.

Andoni Zoloti (Zălotin) s-a stabilit cu traiul în Moldova și în primul deceniu al sec. XIX era deja căminar. A avut cu Ecaterina (fiica clucerului Gavriil Luca) doua fiici - Soltana (călugăriță) și o altă fiică căsătorită cu spătarul Alexandru Hrisoverghi. Avea și un fiu vitreg, Matei, care era din prima căsătorie a Ecaterinei, cu răposatul Mihail Balș. Anume din acest Matei au urmat toți viitorii membri ai familiei Ziloti.

Conform istoricului Nicolae Iorga, în Revue historique du Sud-est Europen (1940, nr. 7-9, p.209), neamul Ziloti erau români, de origine greco-albaneză.

Basarabeanul Gheorghe Bezviconi însă era de părerea că originea familiei ar fi de obârșie italiană din Albania.[2] Ziloti ar fi o familie de Italieni din Albania, românizați în sec. XVIII.[3]

Род Зилоти утверждён в дворянстве по владению предков населёнными имениями. Родоначальник фамилии этой молдавский боярин Коминар Андонакий Зилоти владел в Молдавии наследственным недвижимым имением с крепостными цыганами, а сын его Матвей и внук Илья, на этом основании, Бессарабским Дворянским Собранием внесены в 1 часть дворянской родословной книги, в которую и утверждены Сенатом. Затем штабс-капитан Илья Матвеев сын Зилоти, имея недвижимое имущество в Старобельском уезде, представив подлежащие документы, ходатайствовал о внесении его в дворянскую родословную книгу с семейством и по Харьковской губернии.
