Andrea Paolo Mario Dotti

Andrea Dotti was an Italian psychiatrist and the second husband of Audrey Hepburn from 1969 to 1982. Andrea Paolo Mario Dotti was born on 18 March 1938 in Naples Italy. He died at the age of 69 on 30 September 2007 In Rome Italy.

Andrea Dotti met Hepburn on a voyage aboard an Italian socialite’s yacht in June 1968 and fell in love with her while exploring Greek ruins. On January 18, 1969, he married her. Hepburn claimed at the time that she and Dotti planned to start a family and that she would leave acting to become an “Italian housewife.” Dotti and Hepburn had just one child, Luca, who was born on February 8, 1970. The two love birds gave birth to a baby boy which they names Luca Ditto.

Hepburn and Andrea Dotti were married for 13 years. However, Andrea Dotti’s frequent affairs with younger women marred much of those marital years. Hepburn stayed with Andrea Dotti until she thought their kid was old enough to handle the divorce. Despite their bitter divorce, Hepburn maintained touch with Andrea Dotti for the sake of their kid throughout her life.

Dotti died on September 30, 2007, in Rome, after complications from a colonoscopy.
