Andrew Hudlow was born 1 June 1731 in Otisheim, Wurttemberg, Germany and died 18 March 1785 in Port Republic, Rockingham Co, Virginia. He married Mary Margaret Sehler-Seyler in 1757 in Frederick Co., Virginia and she was born 1740 in Upper Providence Twp., Delaware Co. Pennsylvania and died 20 January 1807 in Rockingham Co., Virginia. She was the daughter of Peter Sehler-Seyler (1705-8 Dec.1751) and Anna Maria Maurer (1709-26 Oct. 1761). They settled in Upper Providence Twp., Delaware Co.Pennsylvania. They came to America in September 18, 1732 on the ship “Johnson Galley of London” Reference: “Pennsylvania German Pioneers” Volume I, 1727-1775, page 71-75. Other spellings Saylor, Sailor, Sayler, Seyler, Sehler and Saeler. Note: Andrew Hudlow came to America on the ship “Edinburgh” on 14 September 1753 and landed at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was an indentured servant to Ferdinand Laird, Virginia planter, for seven years. Andrew Hudlow was sworn into Revolutionary War service by Lieutenant Isaac Zane on 29 May 1775 in the Dunmore (Shenandoah) County Militia in Captain Jacob Holeman’s Company. Andrew Hudlow was called into service in 1780 to 1781 when the militia was called to repel the British invasion of Virginia.

A post from Walter Burgner: "On 8 March 1785, Andreas Huttenloch aka Andrew Hudlow died on his hommestead located what is now called "Brown's Gap" in Rockingnam Co., Virginia. At his death on 8 March 1785, Andrew Hudlow was in possession of 718 acres of land. Out of this 718 acres of land, 450 acres of land was to be divided between his four sons, Jacob, Andrew, Jr., George and John Hudlow. When his five daughters became of age, Anne Marie, Catherine, Magdalene Mary aka Mary Magdalene ana Mary Margareth Hudlow were to receive their share of his estate. In December 1973, the present owners of the Andrew Hudlow homestead rebuilt the old cabin and refurnished it with antiques of the period. They tried to refurish Andre Hudlow's cabin as it originally look when he lived there?"
