Andrena Wingate Lausen of 1609 Muscatine Ave., a registered nurse and homemaker, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. She was 78. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with the Revs. Roger Fisher and Christopher Miller officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the church. Mrs. Lausen was born July 27, 1906, in Lindsay, Neb., a daughter of Albert and Anne Carlson. She married James Roy Wingate in 1926 in Columbus, Neb. He died in 1962. She then married Henry H. Lausen on Nov. 26, 1966, in Wellington, Kan. He died Feb. 25, 1984. She was a graduate of Lindsay High School and received her nursing degree from Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Neb. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, P.E.O. and Esther Bacon Circle. Survivors include thee sons, the Reb. Roy Wingate of Iowa City, Edwin Wingate and James Wingate, both of Minnetonka, Minn.; two daughters, Sally (Mrs. Robert) Morgan of Wichita, Kan. And Marge (Mrs. James) Sylvester of Liberty, Mo.; two step-daughters, Vilda L. (Mrs. Robert D.) Sutherlin and Arleen J. (Mrs. Donald E.) Deacon, both of Iowa City; a step-son, Verne Lausen of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Dr. E. Norman Carlson of Lincoln, Neb., and Captain Donald Carlson of Los Altos, Calif.; 20 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A son and three sisters died earlier.
