Andrew Ballantyne

A missionary with the Methodist Church of Australia, he met and married May Jenness while working in Papua New Guinea. Together they operated a mission station at Bwaidoga. Sadly after just nine years of marriage he died of black water fever, a particularly nasty form of malaria. May stayed on to complete a Bible translation project and then moved to New Zealand to raise their two remaining children, Robert and Alan (two others had died in infancy).
