About Andrew Foster, (II)

Born 1579 in Wickham, Suffolk, England, d. 7 MAY 1685 in Andover, Essex, MA. married to Ann ALCOCK who was born 7 MAY 1617 in England, arrived in New England on the ship Abigail at age 18 the 10th of July 1635/36 and died in Salem Jail as a condemned witch on 3 DEC 1692. Ann ALCOCK was the daughter of Georg ALCOCK b. 1587 in Impington, Cambridge, England. Note: Annis /Ann Alcock's parents are not proven.

Andrew Foster lived to be 106! Wrong! Andrew Foster II died at age 100, town record mistaken for 106 because the third digit was not closed and therefore looked like the numeral 6, when it was actually a 0. Therefore, Andrew Foster II was born at Hunsdon, Herts, England during the year 1584. He died 7 May 1685 at Andover, but also remember in those years the year began in March, not January. Therefore, 7 May 1684/85. Due to a sizable body of circumstantial evidence, we can conclude Ann Foster who died 3 December 1692 in Salem Jail due to witchcraft accusations was actually also Ann, or Annis Alcock. Whether she was also a daughter of George Alcock is not proven, but again a sizeable body of circumstantial evidence also points to Ann Foster [Alcock] as either having been a daughter of George Alcock, or at the least a very close relative. After digging deeply into every genealogical evidence and circumstance available have come to the conclusion that both individuals, Andrew Foster II and Annis Alcock having arrived in the Mass. Colony during 1635, that they were eventually married during 1639/40, Andrew Foster III born Gloucester, Mass.1640 and that she was likely either the daughter of George Alcock and Ann Hooker, a relative of Rev. Thomas Hooker, or at the very least a close relative of both families... Unfortunately, the original Will of George Alcock is missing and what now exists is a rewritten and reinterpreted version. So therefore, important details now missing will forever prevent us from solid evidence to prove without further doubt this case. Edson Foster [Myers]
