Andrew Keck was the youngest son of the pioneer Henry Keck who in 1732 left his home in Upper Falls and with his wife came to Pennsylvania. They were sold as redemptioners to a man in Chester County and in 1740 settled in Salisbury township. He raised six sons and a daughter, three of whom took part in the American Revolutionary War battles of Brandywine and Germantown. Frederick and one whose name is unknown went to North Carolina.
