16 July 1602: Charter under the Great Seal of Scotland which confirms possession of the lands of Lassuduyn to John Ker, eldest son of Sir John Ker of Hirsell and Lady Margaret Quhytlaw. The land in question was to be held by John Ker, junior, andhis lawful male heirs, whom failing by his brother William Ker and his male heirs, whom failing by his brother Andrew Ker and his male heirs, whom failing by the nearest heirs of John Ker, junior, whatsoever. 9 February 1619: Charter under the Great Seal of Scotland which confirms possession of the baronies of Maxtoun and Lyntoun to John Ker, eldest lawful son of Sir John Ker of Jedburgh and his wife Margaret Quhytlaw. The baronies in question was to be held by John Ker, junior, and his lawful male heirs; whom failing by his brother, Master William Ker, Sir John's second son, and his lawful male heirs; whom failing by his brother, Andrew Ker, Sir John's third son, and his lawful male heirs; whom failing by his brother James Ker, Sir John's fourth son, and his lawful male heirs; whom failing by any of the male heirs whatsoever of Sir John Ker of Jedburgh.
