James McNeil (Big)
This one of the sons of Big Rory McNeil settled at Benacadie. He was commonly known by the Gaelic name of “Seumas Mor.” He married Mary, daughter of Rory McDonald, of Judique.

Issue: —John, James, Ronald, Rory, Angus, Sarah, Catherine, and Peggie.

Angus (James) settled at Benacadie, and married Ellen Carrol, of Low Point. Issue: — Donald, Mary, Sarah, Thomas, Jack, Stephen, Ann, James, and Michael.
• Donald, Stephen, and Ann died unmarried.
• Mary married Michael McKinnon (Hector), Rear Beaver Cove.
• Thomas married (first) Katie, daughter of Stephen McNeil, Jamesville. Issue: — Dan Stephen, who is married at New Waterford, and another son who died a few years ago. His second wife was Mary, daughter of Donald McNeil, of Cooper’s Pond.
• Jack (Red) married a daughter of Donald McEachern, of East Bay. He has a family in Sydney.
• Michael married another daughter of Donald McEachern. No issue.
• James lives at Benacadie in single blessedness.
