John McNeil (Hector) was commonly known among his friends as “Iain Mor a Chobhe." He settled at Piper’s Cove and was married twice. His first wife was a Miss Gillis, from Irish Cove. She left two daughters, one of whom married a McDonald, of Irish Cove. His second wife was Sarah McNeil, of Gillis Point.
Issue: Malcolm, Hector, Donald, John, Donald, Ambrose, Ann, Sarah, Rachel, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, and Mary.
Ann married the late Rory J. McNeíI, of Piper's Cove.

John settled on part of his father's estate and married Peggie, daughter of John Curry, of Big Pond.
Issue: Sarah, Elizabeth, Patrick, Rory, Catherine, Mary, Michael, Ann and Norman
Rory J. was an able man, but of a quiet disposition. He died of pneumonia while in the prime of manhood. He was married to Ann, daughter of John McNeil (Big). Issue: John R., Rory, Alex, Maggie Sarah, Mary Ann, and John James.
