Alexander (Alasdair Mac Eachainn) was ferryman at Grand Narrows for a long time. He was a great swimmer; and it is said that he could swim the Narrows with ease. He married Isabella, daughter of Hugh McSween, Glasgow. This woman was named after the wife of the Chief of Barra.
The issue of this marriage was:— Hugh, Michael, Margaret, Hector, Sarah, Stephen, Ann and Katie
Hector settled at Grand Narrows and married Ann, daughter of John McDonald (Eoin), Piper’s Cove. Issue: —Ann, Alex, Donald, Mary Ann, John S., Bella, and Dan.
