Ann Daniel 27, together with her husband James Daniell 28, Farmer, were members of Daniell's Party of 41 Settlers on the Settler Ship Duke of Marlborough.
Party originated from Devon.
Departure Portsmouth, 30 March 1820. Arrival Table Bay, Cape Town - 18 June 1820.
Area Allocated to the Party : Sidbury Park, on the Buffels Kloof stream, Albany
Daniell's party was not a government assisted party. The information for Ann's profile was originally extracted from The Settler Handbook where her age was given as 27 and her 3 children un-named. The attached Death Notice (DN) found by Maryna Naudé seems to refer to her although the age at time of her death, 18th August 1858, is 75 - suggesting she was 10 years older than stated in the book. The informant on the DN was James Clark, her son-in-law. Until further documentation is found her exact year of birth is not definite.
