Ann Cannon, the wife of James Dashiell Sr., was born in 1639, in Yorkshire, England, and was transported to Virginia in 1646 by her father, Edward Cannon. Stephen Cannon of Stepney Parish, Somerset County, Maryland, was a brother of Ann and therefore brother-in-law to James Sr.
