ANN (FURSE) RISDON: Most likely, Born about 1828 in Pancrasweek, Devon, England was Married about 1852 in Pancraswyke's St. Pancras Church of England to JOHN RISDON, Born in 1823 at "Tamarstone", Cornwall.

Pancrasweek, the small village's modern name was changed from Pancraswyke & was so named for its Norman built church's patron saint = St. Pancras. Under the Normans the church was Roman Catholic, but it was later changed to the Church of England, under King Henry Vlll, in the early 16th Century.

Pancrasweek is located about 3 miles west of Holsworthy, Devon, on the northside of Road A3072 to Stratton, Cornwall. Both Cornwall & Devon are counties in the most southwest region of England. Cornwall is like "England's right hand long thumb", sticking out in a southwesterly direction into the Atlantic Ocean. Devon is adjoining Cornwall's northeastern border. Both counties have very pretty lush green countryside scenery, with rolling farmlands, pastures for grazing livestock, fields for growing crops, many flowing streams, small villages & larger towns, plus, both have long windswept coastlines, with sandy &/or rocky beaches or high bluff-lined shores.

Ann (Furse) Risdon was born in Pancrasweek & most likely, was raised in & lived in Pancrasweek, all during her growing-up years, with her parents = John, a blacksmith, & Elizabeth Furse, until Ann met & married John Risdon, a farmer, at which time, Ann moved-in with John at "Tamarstone" Cottage, where Ann & John lived on farmland, raising livestock & crops for the rest of their lives.

ANN (FURSE) RISDON & JOHN RISDON lived, worked, had & raised their 3 Daughters = #1 - Mary (Risdon) Roberts, Born in 1854, #2 - Ann "Annie" (Risdon) Allen, Born about 1857 & #3 - Fanny (Risdon) Montague, Born about 1860, all, at "Tamerstone", the Risdon Family Home, a simple & adequately furnished stone & thatched roof cottage with a heating & cooking fireplace, located on, at times windy, treelined green lush farmland along the River Tamar, about 2 miles east of Stratton, Cornwall on Road A3072 to Holsworthy, Devon. "Tamarstone" had enough farmland to grow various vegetable & fruit produce, plus, raise livestock, such as chickens, pigs, sheep, cows & horses.

It was Ann (Furse) Risdon's & John Risdon's 1st Daughter's = Mary (Risdon) Roberts' 2nd Daughter's, thus, Ann & John Risdon's Granddaughter's = Edith (Roberts) Rowland's chore, when she was old enough, to help her Risdon Grandparents, daily, to bring-in their livestock & put them into the long sheltered end room of their stone & thatched roof cottage, where they could then milk the cows. Edith (Roberts) Rowland had to to walk daily to her Grandparents' "Tamarstone" Cottage, about 2 miles each way from Stratton, where she lived with her Parents = John & Mary (Risdon) Roberts & her 2 Sisters = Florence "Florrie" & Maud. Edith did not like this arduous, dirty & unpleasant chore that her parents made her do, plus, since her Grandmother = Ann (Furse) Risdon was a "cantankerous" older lady, who "crabbed" at Edith to do things just a certain way, it made the chore even more dreadful for Edith.
