In September 1635, his brother William Ganey, ancient planter (died 1643), listed him as a head right and claimed his personal adventure.

Margaret/Margery Ganey (d. ca. 1680) married John Chesman/Chisman/Cheeseman/Cheesman in 1626. Henry Gainye came as a servant to Francis Mason. Descendants of these people intermarried extensively. They lived chiefly in Virginia.
