Ann Hollingsworth of Opeckan in Frederick County in the Colony of Virginia, widow being weak of body
but of perfect sound mind and memory thanks be givin to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of the Body
do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend
my soul into the hands of God that gave it and as for my NBody I redcommend it to the Earth sto be buried in a
decent manner at the discretion of my Executors herafter named and as touching such worldly goods wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the sime in the following
manner;
Imprimis; my will and mind is that all my just debts and funersl exp[ences be first paid and discharged.
ITEM: I give and bequeath to my son George Hollingsworth my part of a piece of cloth that ws made betwixt me and my son Isaac - my son George paying for the weaving-fulling and dressing (draping of my part)
ITEM: I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Carter, my coiw and calf and my young mare.
ITEM: I give and bequeath a quantity of linnen yarn that I have at the weavers to mu daghters Margaret
Carter and Lydia Neill to be divided between them they being an equal charge for the weaving thereof.
ITEM: I give and bequeath all the residue of what my husband left me unto my two daughters - Margaret
Carter and Lydia Neill to be divided between them as they see meet (fit?). Lastly I nominate and appoint my son George Hollingsworth and my son-in-law Lewis Neill my executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the second Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forty eight. 1748
Published and declared to be her last will and testament in presence of : William Glover, James Knight, Joseph
Lupton.
At a Court continued and held for Frederick county on Wednesday, the 5th day of April 1749. The will of Ann
Hollingsworth Dec'd was proved in open Court by the oaths of William Glover and James Knight and the
affirmation of Joseph Lupton witnesses therto and George Hollingsworth and Lewis Neill the executors.
