POSSIBLE DAU. OF ISAAC BRONSON or (dau.-in-law perhaps either of Daniel Howe or of Isaac Bronson).


The descendants of William and Elizabeth Tuttle, who came from old to New England in 1635, and settled in New Haven in 1639, with numerous biographical notes and sketches : also, some account of the descendants of John Tuttle, of Ipswich; and Henry Tuthill, of Hingham, Mass. (1883)

.12. Nathaniel Tuttle, bap. New Haven Feb. 29, 1652, "of Branford church," At the 3d division in H. H. (1680) "Nathaniel Tuttle a soldier" did not come in till after the lots had been drawn and was allowed to come in after the division on the east side. He probably served in the Indian war. He afterwards sold his right to Rev. James Pierpont and his heirs. In a deed dated 1693 he is called of New Haven, husbandman. He probably lived some time in Wallingford, but removed to Woodbury where he joined the church May 12, 1695, and was on the list of a division of the meadow in Shepang Run 1712, m. Aug. 10, 1682, Sarah (dau. of wid. Ann) How.* She joined the church n N. Hav. 1693. In a deed dated Nov. 6, 1695, Ann Howe makes her mark and Nathaniel Tuttle signs "in behalf of my wife." He d. in Woodbury Aug. 20, 1721, and his wid. d. same month, according to one account, but Cothren in Woodbury Statistics says: "Sarah Tuttle the aged widow d. Nov., 1743."

.12.5. ISAAC TUTTLE, bap. Feb. 3, 1687-8; m. in Wallingford, Conn., 1723 Sarah, dau. of Theophilus and Thankfull (Hall) Doolittle (see App.), b. June 1, 1703. Cothren says Isaac came from Danbury to Woodbury; m. in W. June 10, 1729, Prudence Wheeler, b. Sept. 19, 1702. They joined the chh. in W. April 12, 1730, and she d. s. i. July 7, 1730; m. in W. (3) April 15, 1731, Mary, dau. of Daniel Warner, b. July 16, 1712. She joined the chh. in W. April 12, 1732; d. Oct. 28, 1746; though that year would weem to be a mistake, for the will of Daniel Howe of Waterbury proved June 11, 1745, names dau. Anna, wf. of Isaac Tuttle, unless there was another Isaac, and it is difficult to harmonize all the facts and dates on any other supposition. Was she the same person named in the will of Isaac BRONSON dated June 11, 1750, proved July 18, 1751, as dau. ANN, wf. of Isaac Tuttle? (dau.-in-law perhaps either of Daniel Howe or of Isaac Bronson). She was b. Aug. 28 1709; d. July 22, 1753. Isaac Tuttle is called Sergt. He d. 1772, a. 84.
