Donald McNeil “Farmer"
This man was a son of Rory McNeil (Donald Og) who came from Barra in 1822, and settled on Iona Rear, now called Barra Glen. When he married Margaret, the widow of Rory McNeil (Neil Ban), he settled on the estate of his wife’s first husband, at Christmas Island.
The issue of this marriage was: — Christie, Hugh, Mary, Elizabeth, and Rory.
Hugh married Ann, daughter of Rory Johnston, of Beaver Cove. Issue: — Rory, Mary, Donald, Maggie, and Rachel. This family moved to Bridgeport long ago. Donald was a bright young man. He was sent to Rome to prepare himself for the holy office of the priesthood, but failing health compelled him to return home, and he died soon after.
