Baptism: Ann Pulliam was baptized November 22, 1702, in St. Peters, New Kent County, Virginia.[1][2] She was the daughter of William Pulliam.[3]. Her mother is seen as Ann Patterson.
Marriages:
At the time of Joseph Martin’s marriage to Ann (Pulliam) Sandidge, widow of William Sandidge, he still had 9 children left at home for Ann to raise. They ranged from 2 years to 18.
According to the bond cited below, Ann had five children. There are no known children from the Ann Sandige/Joseph Martin marriage.

Anne Martin, wife of Joseph Martin, of Louisa Co. Whereas Wm. Sandige, late of Spts. Co., decd., was seized of several tracts of land in Spts. Co., and made his last will and testament, March 11, 1746, and by the sd. instrument did leave to the sd. Ann, party to these presents, then his wife, three negroes, etc., and the balance of his property to be divided between the sd. Ann, and his three sons, James, David and John, etc., etc., and his daughter, Mary Golson, wife of Anthony Golson, Junr., etc. Dated, Nov. 4, 1754. Z. Lewis, George Atkinson, Robert x Gregory. Novr. 5, 1754
Deeds and Bonds:
On July 7, 1747, Anne Sandige, as guardian of John Sandige, orphan of William Sandidge, posted a £200 bond.[5]
By instrument recorded November 5, 1754, Joseph Martin and Joseph Pulliam, both of Louisa County, because "Joseph is now going to be married to Ann Sandige," posted a bond in favor of her children James Sandige, William Sandige, David Sandige, John Sandige and her son-in-law Anthony Gholsen to account for all property inhertied by Ann Sandige from the Estate of William Sandige and to deliver said property or equivalent value to the beneficiaries of the bond at Ann Sandige's death.[6]
By instrument dated November 4, 1754, recorded November 5, 1754, Ann Martin, wife of Joseph Martin, of Louisa County, Virginia, "whereas William Sandige, late of Spotsylvania County, deceased, was seized of several tracts of land in Spotslyvania County and made his last will and testament, March 11, 1746, and by the sd. instrument did leave to the sd. Ann, part to these presents, then his wife, three Negros Peter, Jern, and Sue . . . and devising several other legacies" to his wife Ann for her life and the rest and residue to his Estate to be divided among Ann and his three sons James, David and John, with a reminder interest in Ann's life estate to his three sons James, David and John; and whereas, "before my intermarriage with Joseph Martin, my present husband, the said Joseph did make a Marriage Contract with and Agreement with me on the 28th day of June" 1754 and did the same date enter into bond along with Joseph Pulliam to appraise the properties received by Ann from the Estate of William Sandidge; Anne Martin provided an accounting and appraisal of the property and gifted the following to her children: first, to her son William Sandige £10; second, to her son John Sandige £10; third, £40 equally between her sons James and David Sandige and her daughter Mary Golson, wife of Anthony Golson unless she predeceases and then equally to James and David Sandige. The instrument is filed with an Inventory and Apprisal for the Estate of Ann Sandige dated June 30 1754 which contains the identification of an enslaved women named Silla, an enslaved child name Temja, and an enslaved woman named Sue. [7]
"Joseph Martin of Louisa Co., Gent., and Anne, his wife, late wife of Wm. Sandige, late of Spts. Co., Deed., to Francis Meriwether of Spts. Co., Gent. 1/3rd part of a tract of 150 a., called Elk Neck, in Spts. Co., purchased by sd. Wm. Sandige in his lifetime of John Davis of King Wm. Co., and by sd. Wm. devised to his son, Wm., who sold it to the sd. Meriwether. Witnesses, Benja. Holloday, James Pulliam, Joseph Rash. Dated, Sept. 1, 1755. Recd. Sept. 2, 1755."[8]
Accounting in Joseph Martin's Estate:
As required by the pre-nuptial agreement, the March 1771 final accounting for the estate of Joseph Martin included payments to David, James, John and William Sandidge as well as to Anthony Gohlson.[9]
Death: Ann Pulliam died around 1794 in Louisa, Virginia.[2][10]
