Ann Perry Tandy was the daughter of Jackson Tandy and Sarah Scott Snelling. She was born on December 25, 1821, in Lafayette County, Kentucky. She married Henry Merrill Henderson on August 2, 1838 in Missouri. They had ten children. She died March 11, 1891, in Lakeview, Lake County, Oregon. There is an undated tombstone in the Lakeview Cemetery, in a cluster of undated stones, that reads, simply, "Mrs. H. M. Henderson."
Ann Tandy's family were a part of the migration to the west coast of the United States. Her extend family were members of the Harlow/Tandy wagon train, headed for Oregon. She and husband Henry and sons William and Viator, appear on the 1850 census for Utah. After that, they leave the train, settling briefly in northern Nevada, before heading to California. By 1851, they are in the Santa Clara Valley, living briefly in Alviso, Mountain View and Fremont.
By 1870, the family is in Paradise Valley, Siskiyou County, California, where they are leasing a farm. Later, they moved north to Lane County, Oregon, and live next door to Ann's brothers William and Robert. Henry has given up farming and has become a minister.
