≤p>"She cam the year the auld Queen died." Second yougest of 11 children. Born and raised in Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Married Bill Phillips, fish merchant, Aberdeen, in the 1920s. They had one child - John Ross Phillips - who died young. Divorced circa 1936. Looked after her elderly parents at their croft in Whinnyfold immediately prior to WW2.Worked mostly in hotels apart from a wartime stint as a lathe operator at Rolls Royce in Glasgow. Fell pregnant at Banchory, Kincardineshire, Scotland in 1948. Father alleged to be John Faichney. Gave birth to an illegitimate son - John McCrae Ross - in Glasgow in January 1949. Remained in Glasgow for the rest of her life. Kept house for her widowed brother Frank from 1955/56 until 1964. Thereafter, ran a boarding house for working men until 1975.≤/p>
