Ann Tainton born Brooks was born before the 8th December 1799 at Westbury on Trym, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. She was Christened at Holy Trinity Church, Westbury on Trym near Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.

She died in the home of her daughter Cheryth Vix, wife of Dr. Charles William Vix of Panmure, East London, Eastern Cape of Good Hope.

She was buried after the 13th November 1876 at Panmure Cemetery, East London, Albany, Eastern cape of Good Hope. There is no headstone surviving on the grave.
