About Anna “Anne” Wohl

Anne Wohl was the loveliest woman whom we met about 10 years before she passed away. She had a unique personality and tolerance for her fellow man. She was the princess of the gay community in Palm Spring helping them and adored by them. She was one of the only survivors of Getto Riga where she was taken by the Nazis from Vienna. She managed to survive, but watched how my grandmother Tzila was killed right as she got off the train. Her mother Julia was murdered later in the camp with all other Jews in the Riga camp. She met her husband Misha when she came out of the camp on her way back to Vienna. Misha was a deserter Russian soldiers. She was happily married to him for years, until he passed away. However, they both decided not to allow anyone to know that they were Jewish, even her best friends didn't know this sealed secret.
