About Anna Barbara Biebel
Notes: Please note that the family has spelled their last name as KOEHLER as well as KOHLER. The headstones of Jacob, Anna, and their son Jacob, are all listed as Kohler. Later family members spelled their last name Koehler. Anna Biebel was born near Forst, Bad Durkheim, Germany, the daughter of Johannis Biebel and Catharina Spindler. She immigrated to the United States in 21 Jan 1870 and married Jacob Gaylor Koehler on 26 Feb 1870 in St. Louis, MO. Family had passed down the story that they married on the ship on their way to the U.S., but it's believed that they may have met on their way to America. There is record of their marriage in St. Louis. They lived for several years in the St. Louis area before completing their journey to a predominately German settlement in Doniphan, Kansas. Anna and Jacob had at least five children: Anna, Jacob, Fred "Uncle Fritz", Mary Anna, and Anton. Source: Findagrave.com
