From "LOLADENN1": The Hallett family records refer to their daughter who married Richard Curtis as Ann or Anna Hallett, but the Curtis family records refer to her as Lydia Hallett. Some records also refer to her as Lydia or Anna Hollett. Since there are no records that would indicate that Richard Curtis married more than once, it can be assumed that either Anna or Lydia is the Christian name and the other a nickname. Richard refers to his wife as Lydia and states that she is the mother of his children, but marriage records list her as Ann.
From Deane's History of Scituate:
His [Richard Curtis'] will, dated 1692, gives To oldest son John two thirds of my real estate, he providing for my wife Lydia during her life. To son Thomsas one third, &c. To daughters Hannah Curtis, Elizabeth Brooks, Mary Badcocke, and Martha Clark.'
