About Anna Margretha Eberhard

This profile is for the wife of Joseph Eberhard, thought to be Anna Margaretha Noll. She is thought to have been born in Bas-Rhin, France, sometime around 1706.

Immigration

Husband Joseph is thought to have come from Switzerland; he and two brothers all emigrated at the same time, in 1727. I have not found any records of a marriage for Joseph, however, in either Switzerland or Germany or France. Joseph's children are all born after 1727, so the likely explanation is that Joseph emigrated before finding a wife.

Anna Margaretha's first child was born in 1734. Offhand this would imply a marriage date of 1732, which works well for Joseph Eberhard's timeline, but then we'd have to find a way of getting Anna Margaretha Noll to Pennsylvania before 1734. All the Nolls seemingly arrived in 1732 and 1733, on different ships, but at roughly the same time, which works out perfectly.

FindAGrave

While Joseph's grave marker is labeled in the Great Swamp Cemetery, his wife's does not appear to be. All I've got to go on for her name is one web tree with no sources.

But there is strong evidence of a local immigrant Germanic Noll family, apparently from Alsace, France. I've tied her into that. It's also possible (verifying still) that this branch of the Noll family is related to Nolls who emigrated to New York in 1709-1710, and then came overland to Pennsylvania a few years later.
