About Karl David Wright

Genealogy is where you confuse the dead and irritate the living - Erica Howton

Karl Wright was drawn to the sciences at an early age, but he has many interests and has been involved in many communities. By way of his parents, he has been involved in the classical music community, and has even dabbled in composition. Early on, he was an avid amateur astronomer. But his education centered around computer science and economics, and he has had a long career in compiler design, networking systems, speech recognition, content management, search engines and web crawling, and machine learning. He was formerly a vice president of the Apache Software Foundation, until he retired from that position, and works for global leader in map software. Linked-In profile here
