About Anna Helen Hardy
When Anna Hardy met with her cousin Juozas Poshka in Rockford around 1990, she gifted him the FDR funeral photos she received from Sgt. James Powder (who was in the Honor Guard for FDR). Juozas told his son that Powder was "a relative". Anna's father, George Skinkis, was the brother of Juozas' grandmother, Magdalena, so Cassie and Juozas were blood cousins. As for Anna's father George, and James Powder, besides the odd fact they were both Lithuanians born in Spring Valley, IL, perhaps they knew how they were related.
The link is thru Anna's mother, Cassie. Metrikai-lt shows - an odd combination for someone - Tėvai: Mikolas Pačenkis ir Marijona Padelskiūtė, mirę - Dabravolės kaime Pajevonio valsč. Vilkaviškio apskr. And that happened neighboring the old Skinkis homestead of Anna's grandfather, Sylvestras. Pajevonys was the unusual epi-center for the odd Sylvestras first name fad. Even James Powder's Padelskas grandfather's name was Sylvestras. One can only connect the dots around Padelskas & Pačenkis - from Dabravoles - near Ančlaukys and what we don't know.
