Anna Jane Goggin (Kane)

Anna Jane was born during the Civil War.

Mary Goggin (Orbin) remembered that her grandmother, Anna Jane Kane, would call out to Mary as she walked past her door. Once inside, Anna would pin dollars to Mary's underpants and tell her to go straight home and give the money to her mother. (Janie)

Mary remembered Anna Jane as being tall and thin with very white hair. (Janie)

When Mary was age twelve or so Anna Jane passed away. Anna asked that Mary come to her bedside to say goodbye. Anna told her to be a good girl, and that she already knew she was a good girl. Mary was the oldest grandchild of James', and was given an oak-framed print from her grandmother's estate which she kept until the day she died. (Janie)
