ANN (BLYTHE) GRIGSBY 1933-2009

Ann Blythe Grigsby of Bells area community passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at her home in Bells, Texas -Grayson County Texas. She is a relative of former President Bill Clinton who did come to town for her funeral.

Ann was born Anna Lou Blythe on May 5, 1933 to Earnest and Ola May (Hazelwood) Blythe at her grandmother Hazelwood's house seven miles west of Sherman, Tx.

She was a 1950 graduate of Southmayd High School (west of Sherman) where her favorite activity was basketball. She also attended several junior colleges for extension courses in Grayson County and Dallas County.

On September 23, 1950 she married Leon Grigsby at Southmayd Baptist Church. They were blessed with two loving children. Soon after they wed they moved to Farmers Branch-Carrolton area of Dallas where they reared their children.

During this time Ann was employed by Burroughs Corporation and Delta Steel Buildings Co. In 1978 they had the opportunity to purchase Preston Fishing Camp on Lake Texoma (Grayson County) where they met many new friends. Later they purchased a ranch in the Bells area of Grayson County which she dearly loved and where she wanted to stay and never leave. She liked to putter, relax and watch the world go by. Her children and grand daughter were her pride and joy.

Ann was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.

Surviving are: HUSBAND: Leon Grigsby

DAUGHTER: Kathy Grigsby and companion Bryan Akers of Bells, Texas.

SON: Lonnie Grigsby of Tampa, Florida

GRANDDAUGHTER: Kinsey Walker of Bells, Texas

SISTER: Tina Jones and husband Bill of Sherman, Tx

NEPHEWS: Jeff Jones and wife Jennifer of Whitesboro, Tx Joey Jones and wife Kelly of Sherman, Tx. Jeremy Jones and wife Deanna of Sherman, Tx.

Several great-neices and great-nephews.

AUNT: Betty Hazelwood Martin of Sherman, Tx.

and many cousins and other loved family.

Ann is also survived by foreign exchange student from Hamburg, Germany (Helen Brandis) whom she loved like a daughter.

Services will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel in Sherman, Texas.

Brother Lowell Howard of the Choctaw Cowboy Church in Savoy will officiate and interment will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Sherman, Tx.
