About Anna Maria (Mary) Rossman
Anna Maria (Mary) Rossman married John Rossman (son of Adam Rossman), her 1st cousin. The family lived in Schoharie County, NY, where most of their children were born. They moved to Macomb County. The next year they settled at Oxford, Oakland County, MI. According to a newspaper clipping, they had 9 children and "not one of the boys... use tobacco in any way." One feature of the family is that nearly all have black eyes. The time was if someone saw a black-eyed child near Oxford, he would ask, "Are you Mr. Rossman's little one?"
