- Nathaniel owned Coaley Mill in Coaley, an Iron Works in which Edge Tools where manufactured
- They had five children: Nathaniel Underwood (died in infancy), William Robert Underwood, Nathaniel Underwood, Anna Maria Underwood and Robert Davies Underwood
- Died on 21 May 1802, at the age of 60. Cause of death unknown
- Her funeral was held on 27 May 1802 at St Bartholomew’s church in Coaley
- The inscription on the grave reads: In memory of Nathaniel Underwood of Coaley, Edge Tool Maker, who died May 2nd 1807, aged 68. Also of Anna Maria his wife who died May 21st 1802 aged 60. Nathaniel their son died in infancy. Also of Nathaniel Underwood ??? son of the above who died April 1823 in the 49th year of his life
