Information courtesy of Rose Mohnsam, 5 July 2012: "Chilton Times, February 7, 1920 Died - Anna Pingel, Stockbridge mourns the death of Mrs. E. A. Pingel which occurred Friday evening, Jan. 30th at her home, after an illness of several years' duration. Mrs. Pingel, nee Anna Marie Lang, was born at Milwaukee, Dec. 2nd, 1869. She came with her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Fred Lang, to Calumet county when but two years of age, settling on a tract of land in Stockbridge on the Military road, which place they still retain. She attended the district school in that neighborhood and on Jan. 19th, 1887 was united in marriage to Ernst Pingel. They took up their residence in this village which place has been their home ever since, with the exception of a few months spent in Chilton when Mr. Pingel purchased the late Arno Heymer property, later disposing of the same to Jacob Kalt. Returning to Stockbridge, they again took up their residence here. Two daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Pingel, Ruby, now Mrs. Phil Schweitzer, and Mabel, who died March 22nd, 1910 at the age of 21. The deceased was a woman of excellent qualities of heart and mind. She was known and loved by everybody in the community where she so long resided, for her kindly ways and real devotion to family and friends. Her cheerful manner made for her many friends, and endeared her to all and the passing of this good wife and mother leaves a vacancy which cannot be filled. The funeral was held from the Congregational church, Rev. W. Thompson officiating and burial taking place in the family lot at Brant, beside her daughter, Mabel. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Phil Schweitzer and two grandchildren, to whom she was especially endeared. Also an aged father and mother, now making their home at the Pingel residence, three sisters, Mrs. F. M. Pingel of Wagner, Montana, Mrs. Rose Dutcher of Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. Julius Bosshardt, of Chilton, one brother, Albert Lang of Oshkosh, besides numerous relatives and friends to mourn her untimely loss."
