About Anna Atlanta Uktavia Seales
Born on the ship "Alardus" which was quantined at Melbourne suspected of being a plague ship due to 28 deaths aboard. This was an American vessel hired by a German firm to transport migrants to Queensland the trip lasted 9 months due to adverse conditions the captain was lost at sea at night and the 1st mate had TB so unable to work, enquires were held into the voyage, and found the ship was unsuitable to transport people.
The reason two different names is the ships log lists a Anna Uktavia born at sea, her death certificate states Anna Atlanta Octavia Seales. Her brother also has a different name spelling same parents etc.but died at sea, like others. Grandma Anna had very crippled hands but she still managed to do crochet work, Rhumatoid Arth. was the cause, a small but very pleasant lady always a smile for grand children, they lived at South Yarra flats called Dorrington house a concrete structure fronting the Yarra River, the Rosella factory was on the opposite bank in Richmond.
