About Anna Tallmadge
Ann Sutherland b. Bet. 1754-1757 Stanfordville, Dutchess Co., NY; d. 14 JUL 1827 Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., NY; m. 27 JUN 1771 (place unknown); Col. James Tallmadge b. 11 SEP 1743/1744 Sharon, Litchfield Co., CT; d. 21 DEC 1821 Poughkeepsie, Dutchess Co., NY; m. 27 JUN 1771 (place unknown). Burial places unknown.
NOTE: James married Ann Southerland of Stanford, Dutchess Co., NY. He was a blacksmith and a farmer. He commanded a company of men under Colonel Morris Graham's Sixth New York Militia, from Dutchess County, NY in the Revolution. They fought in the battle of Saratoga and helped in the capture of Burgoyne in October of 1777. James was later given the title of Colonel and was a presidential elector in 1812. He was a highly respected citizen. 1782: Had twin children. No other data is known about them.
