About Anna Marie Walz
emigrated fra Pumer, germany, in 1901, at age 9 years, with her parents and five brothers and sisters.
On a website I found their children said that remember many instances that our parents talked about, their two week ship voyage, the storms, the food and getting through customs. After farming at Campbell, for seven years, they farm they were renting was sold. In the fall of 1918, Albert and Anna, with their family moved to Springbrook Township in Kittson Co. They had purchased the Peter Kolden farm.
This was a hard winter, they endured the hard flu and many died in the area. They were thankful their family had survived. The Springbrook Evangelical Lutheran Church was their home church. Later as that church closed, Mr and Mrs Walz became members of Oslo Lutheran.
