Anna Gibson was born 31 October 1810 at Giles County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of George Moore Gibson and Mary Ann Elliott of Giles County Tennessee. Anna Gibson married James Madison White in November of 1830 at Giles County, Tennessee. Anna Gibson White is the mother of 14 children.

James was born in Giles County Tenn. He founded the first Sunday school in Lawrence County Missouri (1840). He served as a Judge of the western district from 11 Oct.1856-1857 in Verona. James was also Listed as the first Post Master of Verona (1857). He was the founder of Verona in Lawrence county Missouri (1868). James gave the railroad one-half interest in his land to build a Railroad Station, now Verona, the depot was built about 1870 and closed in 1938. According to census records, His residences included Giles Tenn. from 1809-1831, he lived in Spring River, Lawrence county Missouri 1860-1870. From 1880 to his death in 1891 he lived in Verona Missouri probably Barry county Missouri, they made many changes in county lines during this time, most likely it was the same residence. James was Married to Anna Gibson About 1826 in Giles Tenn. until her death in 1858, James married the widow Nancy Irwin the following year (1859 in Barry county Missouri).

(1836-1913), Gideon Lafayette (1839-????), Alfred Alexander Burton (1842-1922), James C.(1845-1857 ), David A. (dates Unknown), Leona Isabel (1850-1910), Finis E. (1856-1919), and Mary Jane (dates unknown). James Madison White had no children with Nancy Irwin. James Madison White died on 13th of Dec. 1891 and is buried next to his second wife Nancy Irwin in Spring River Cemetery, Verona Missouri.
